Porzio Welcomes Partner Crystal West Edwards
Porzio, Bromberg & Newman expanded its wealth-preservation group with the addition of Crystal West Edwards as a principal partner in Morristown. Edwards, previously a partner at Schenck Price Smith & King, brings significant experience in elder and special-needs law and estate, along with estate and gift tax planning, to her new firm, Porzio Bromberg said in a release. Edwards is a certified elder law attorney by the ABA-accredited National Elder Law Foundation. She counsels seniors, individuals with special needs and their families on issues of complex estate and tax planning, asset preservation, eligibility for means-tested government benefits, fiduciary appointments, and representation and advocacy. Edwards received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina (Charlotte), cum laude, and her J.D. from Pennsylvania State University's Dickinson School of Law. She is a past president and life member of the Garden State Bar Association, New Jersey's principal professional organization for African American judges, lawyers and law students. She is admitted in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. |
Sills Cummis Brings On Former DEP Attorney Papperman
Sills Cummis & Gross added Raymond S. Papperman , a former legal adviser to Department of Environmental Protection officials, as counsel to the environmental law section of the firm's redevelopment practice group in Newark. He handles all aspects of environmental law pertaining to ongoing operations at commercial and industrial facilities, and the remediation and development of sites throughout New Jersey. Papperman also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution in environmental, construction and land use disputes, the firm noted. Papperman previously served as the deputy chief adviser to the commissioner of the New Jersey DEP, the director of DEP's Office of Dispute Resolution, and DEP's ethics liaison officer. Prior to his tenure at DEP, Papperman counseled clients in private practice for more than 20 years. He is admitted in New Jersey. Papperman received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School and his B.A. from Hobart College. |
Nukk-Freeman & Cerra Welcomes New Counsel
Nukk-Freeman & Cerra , a Chatham-based employment law firm representing management, brought on Jesse Grasty as counsel. He has extensive experience litigating and counseling complex labor and employment matters in federal and state court and before federal, state and local agencies, the firm said. Grasty previously was an associate at Klein Zelman Rothermel Jacobs & Schess compliance with labor and employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, and state and local equivalents across a wide range of industries. He received his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. |
Keating Joins Keefe Law Firm
Christopher Keating joined the Keefe Law Firm in Red Bank as an associate in August after serving more than four years as a deputy attorney general in the Division of Criminal Justice. At the firm, he focuses on personal injury, criminal defense, environmental, and wage-and-hour litigation. As a DAG, Keating prosecuted large-scale fraud and theft rings, public corruption, and environmental crimes, according to a release. He is currently a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Camden County Bar Association. He earned his B.A. from Rutgers College in 2009, and then served two years in the AmeriCorps program (Teach For America) in Newark. Keating then attended Seton Hall University School of Law, and received his J.D. in 2014. He then clerked for Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Lisa M. Vignuolo . |

Two new associates have joined Archer & Greiner in Haddonfield. Amy Pearl is a member of the business litigation and trade-secret-protection and non-compete practice groups, where she focuses on commercial and complex civil litigation, including breach-of-contract litigation and contract disputes. Pearl received her J.D., summa cum laude, in 2018, from Rutgers Law School in Camden, and her B.A., magna cum laude, in 2014 from The College of New Jersey. She clerked for Appellate Division Judge Michael J. Haas interned for U.S. District Judge Thomas N. O'Neill Jr. of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Sarah L. Cranston is a member of the firm's estate and trust litigation group and estate and trust services group. She focuses on assisting families and individuals with planning and administration matters, as well as protecting their interests. She advises individuals, banks, and universities. Cranston received her J.D. in 2012 from Rutgers Law School in Camden, her M.A. in English from Rutgers University in Camden, and her B.A. in English from the University of Rhode Island. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
