On Jan. 23, the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education (NJICLE) will host an exclusive screening of Harriet, the critically acclaimed film about Harriet Tubman, who escaped slavery and liberated hundreds of others on dangerous missions on the Underground Railroad.

The screening and panel discussion afterwards will be at Regal Cinemas Hadley Theatre 16 in South Plainfield. Dara Govan, assistant United States attorney in Newark, will moderate a discussion about Tubman’s legacy and current issues surrounding the fight for freedom and equality. Cedric Ashley, a former chair of the New Jersey State Bar Association Diversity Committee, is scheduled to speak.
