Mercer Bar Installs President and Officers
The Mercer County Bar Association installed James L. Creegan of Stark & Stark as its 81st president at the Trenton Country Club in West Trenton on Jan. 23. Superior Court Judge Kay Walcott-Henderson swore in the new officers and trustees, and Creegan said in his installation speech that the association will seek to strengthen diversity and Inclusion initiatives through educational programs, social engagement, community outreach and building relationships with statewide affinity bar associations, according to a release. The other officers installed were: Tanya Philips as president-elect; Michael Kahme as vice president; Margaret Chipowsky as treasurer; and Jennifer Zoschak as secretary. Trustees for 2020-22 were also installed: Ayesha K. Hamilton , Katie Mae Magee , Bryan M. Roberts , Frank P. Spada and Sam C. Toma . |
Frier Levitt 'Goes Red for Women'
On Feb. 7, attorneys and staff at Frier Levitt , a health-care and life sciences firm in Pine Brook, took part in the American Heart Association's 2020 "Go Red for Women Day," its global initiative to end heart disease and stroke in women. The firm shared information about heart health and donated $10 to the association for each participant who wore red. The program was launched in 2004 to close the gap in awareness and has expanded into a global movement dedicated to removing barriers to achieving good health and wellbeing, the firm's release noted. |
K&L Gates Newark Partner Chosen as Diversity Fellow
K&L Gates Newark litigation partner Loly Garcia Tor as its 2020 representative to the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity's fellows program. The program was launched in 2011 and aims to foster diversity in law firm and legal department leadership. The organization was formed in 2009 and is made up of more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession, according to the announcement Tor handles products liability, consumer protection, and construction litigation, representing clients in manufacturing, retail, pharmaceuticals, real estate and construction. She is a member of K&L Gates' global diversity committee, and in pro bono practice represents children in immigration proceedings.
