A.Y. Strauss Adds Commercial Real Estate Partner
The board of trustees of Bloomfield-based Partners for Women and Justice named Julie A. Murphy executive director of the organization, which advocates for low-income victims of domestic violence. Its programs help domestic violence victims secure restraining orders, safe visitation and custody arrangements, and fair orders of child support. The organization's announcement said Murphy is a "strategic leader with a commitment to fostering the empowerment of others." In her six years at Union County Legal Services, she represented clients in domestic violence and family law matters. She went on to become the head of strategy for Girl Scouts of the USA for 10 years. She then founded Oakwood Leadership. She holds a law degree from Brooklyn Law School and an undergraduate degree from Rutgers College. Board chairwoman Catherine Weiss said in a statement that Murphy "is committed to Partners' mission and, with her varied experience, will bring a fresh perspective to the organization."
|Helmer Conley Welcomes Wiercinski as Of Counsel
Helmer Conley & Kasselman announced that Edward R. Wiercinski has joined the firm as of counsel, based out of its Trenton office. Prior to joining the firm, Wiercinski practiced out of his own law office in Cherry Hill, Helmer Conley's announcement noted. At his new firm, he will continue to handle bankruptcy and family matters, the announcement said.
|Associate Patel Joins Norris McLaughlin
Norris McLaughlin in Bridgewater brought on litigation associate Akshar U. Patel . Patel handles leasing and commercial litigation, focusing on commercial landlord disputes and secured transactions. He previously was an intern at the U.S. Attorney's Office in New Jersey, and also interned in the Office of Public Engagement at the White House in Washington, D.C. Patel received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2018 and his B.A. from George Washington University in 2013. He is a member of the South Asian Bar Association and an active advocate for the Rescue Mission of Trenton.
Laddey Clark Welcomes Kadkoy as Associate
Shan Kadkoy has joined Laddey Clark & Ryan in Sparta as an associate, concentrating his practice in wills, trusts and estates and government services, according to a firm announcement. Prior to joining the firm, he served as a judicial law clerk to Judge Mary Siobhan Brennan of the Tax Court of New Jersey.
