Brown Moskowitz Welcomes Greenberg as Partner
Michael J. Greenberg has joined the real estate practice at Brown Moskowitz & Kallen in Summit as a partner. He handles acquisition, financing and leasing of office, retail, industrial and multi-family assets for clients including private equity real estate funds, REITS, institutional investors and large family-owned developers. Greenberg previously spent 10 years as a partner in the internal law firm of a group of private equity real estate funds. Greenberg earned his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law, an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School, and a B.A. from the University of Maryland. He began his career at Sullivan and Cromwell. "I chose to join Brown Moskowitz & Kallen because I was impressed by the talent of the attorneys and the depth of legal services offered by the firm," said Greenberg, in a statement. "Quite often, my real estate clients require zoning, tax, litigation, M&A and bankruptcy expertise, among other critical legal needs. I will now be able to offer my clients a comprehensive depth of service in these essential complementary practice areas."
Calcagni & Kanefsky Adds Three
Calcagni & Kanefsky brought on three attorneys to its Newark office: of counsel Lauren M. Paxton, senior associate Linda Claude-Oben, and associate Gianna A. Bove. "The unique make-up of our firm attracts exceptionally talented lawyers, and our newest team members are proof of this," senior partner Thomas R. Calcagni said in a statement.
Paxton is a former assistant U.S. attorney and former enforcement counsel with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in New York. She most recently practiced in the New Jersey office of a regional law firm. She focuses on employment law, and has experience litigating employment disputes and conducting internal workplace investigations. Her practice includes navigating government investigations, counseling companies on workplace policies, and negotiating C-suite employment agreements. She earned her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School and B.A. from The College of New Jersey, She "has precisely the type of experience our clients value. Her experience as a regulator and talented litigator further bolsters our already-robust employment law practice," said senior partner Eric T. Kanefsky, in a statement.
A former Hudson County assistant prosecutor, Linda Claude-Oben conducts internal investigations and defends companies and professionals facing government enforcement actions. With her active membership in the NFL Wives Association, Claude-Oben also brings an added dimension to the firm's representation of professional athletes in high-stakes matters. She earned her J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and her B.A. from New York University, The firm "performs at the highest level of practice. Working alongside other former prosecutors, I am excited to bring my years of government experience to bear for our clients," said Claude-Oben in a statement.
Bove joins from a regional litigation boutique. She represents corporations and professionals in federal and state criminal and regulatory matters, as well as in internal investigations. She received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from American University, Bove, in a statement by the firm, said: "This is a great moment to be joining [the firm]. I'm thrilled to be part of the firm's expansion as it continues distinguishing itself as a leading litigation and investigations firm focused on achieving extraordinary client results."

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

Amy O. Bruchs and Kurt F. Ellison of Michael Best & Friedrich have entered appearances for Epic Systems Corp. in a pending employment discrimination lawsuit. The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
