Zelinger Becomes First Woman to Head a Bressler Amery Office
Insurance defense litigator Hope Zelinger of Florham Park-based Bressler, Amery & Ross was named managing partner of the firm's Miami office. She is the first woman to be a managing partner of a Bressler office, and the youngest lawyer to hold that management position, the firm said in a release. Zelinger took over for Wes Holston, who has led both the Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices. (He continues as managing partner of the Fort Lauderdale office). Zelinger has been the lead trial attorney for Bressler's 20-member Florida insurance group and over the last year has worked on a team of all-women trial lawyers conducting three trials in 2019, the firm said. During the past 14 months, Zelinger has been first chair of three jury trials—all of them handled by an all-female attorney team, the firm added. Zelinger received her J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in 2011, and her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in 2004. Zelinger said in a statement: "What excites me most about being the first female office managing principal at Bressler is the message it sends to our attorneys and staff: that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible." She added: "We are a supportive and team-oriented firm. I look forward to continuing to support and collaborate with my colleagues in the Miami office." Firmwide managing partner Frank Cuccio said in a statement that Zelinger "is a natural leader, and she has a track record of successful leadership both inside and outside of the legal industry. We know she will do great things for the firm, not only the first woman at the Bressler to head an office but also as the youngest managing principal in firm history."
