A New Jersey appeals court has turned back a challenge to Gov. Phil Murphy’s task force investigating financial incentives given to businesses.

Entities that came under investigation by the task force after seeking incentives from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority claimed Murphy lacked authority to investigate them. But on Monday, the appeals court affirmed the ruling of a Mercer County Superior Court judge, who dismissed the claims with prejudice.
