Kukin Joins Winne Banta as Partner
Winne Banta Basralian & Kahn in Hackensack welcomed Jonathan Kukin as a new partner in the firm's tax, trusts and estates practice group, as of June 29. Kukin has practiced exclusively in the tax planning area since 1987, the firm noted. Prior to joining Winne Banta, he was a partner in Kukin & Bieg, a small firm that focused on estate planning, tax and corporate law. Kukin represents small and midsize companies, particularly entrepreneurs, focusing on family-controlled, closely held businesses. He has also concentrated on commercial real estate leases for growing companies, corporate planning, corporate transactions, charitable planning and comprehensive estate planning. He has negotiated many transactions on behalf of professional and commercial clients, the firm noted.
|Joshua Berliner Joins McManimon Firm as Associate
Joshua V. Berliner has joined McManimon, Scotland & Baumann in Roseland as an associate. His practice includes sustainable development, clean energy and resiliency, environmental law, and general litigation. In 2015 Berliner received his B.A. from Bucknell University. In 2014 he was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, during his Junior year of college. In 2018, he received his J.D. from Pace Law School, magna cum laude, with the Environmental Law Certificate. As a law student, Berliner was articles editor for the Pace Environmental Law Review. He also interned at the Pace Energy and Climate Center, where he worked on New York State electric utility law proceedings, and at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C., where he worked on legal challenges to EPA regulations. Berliner also interned with U.S. District Judge Cathy Seibel of the Southern District of New York. Subsequently, Berliner worked as a summer associate at Young Sommer in Albany, New York, and as a student attorney in the Pace Food & Beverage Law Clinic in New York City. After graduation, Berliner clerked for Morris County Superior Court Judge Louis S. Sceusi.
