Two New Partners Join Mandelbaum Salsburg
Mandelbaum Salsburg in Roseland brought on two new partners to the firm.
Vincent J. Roldan, previously with Ballon Stoll Bader & Nadler, joined the bankruptcy and creditors' rights group, and the banking and financial services group. He focuses on bankruptcy matters, workouts, corporate restructuring and commercial litigation. He has represented parties in interest in various aspects of bankruptcy proceedings and out of court workouts across the U.S. He also represents clients in non-bankruptcy litigation in state and federal courts. He frequently speaks and writes on restructuring, commercial bankruptcy and distressed investing. Roldan clerked for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Lewis M. Killian Jr. of the Northern District of Florida. He received his B.A. from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Roldan is a past president of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of New York; a founding member of the National Filipino American Lawyers Association; a member of the Asian American Bar Association of New York, for whom he serves as a founding co-chair of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring committee; and a member of the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, for whom he co-chairs the Bankruptcy Committee.
Richard Robins, previously with Brach Eichler, joined the health care law group. He represents hospitals, health care practitioners and civil litigants in state and federal trial and appellate litigation; licensure and arbitration proceedings; transactional matters; and criminal matters including health care and kickback investigations, prosecutions, and parole disputes. He earned his J.D. (summa cum laude, 1988) from American University, Washington College of Law, and his B.A. (magna cum laude, 1984) from Emory University. He has successfully litigated actions in the New Jersey Supreme Court and other jurisdictions, including complex breach of contract, employment discrimination, restrictive covenant, denial of medical staff privileges, retaliatory discharge and contested guardianship cases. Robins also represents clients in complex business and medical and dental practice formation matters including new member buy-ins, employment agreements, terminations, contract negotiations and disputes, and in disciplinary proceedings before licensing and regulatory boards.
McOmber Firm Adds Kocher as Partner
McOmber McOmber & Luber welcomed partner Charles J. Kocher, who represents clients on a variety of employment issues and class actions involving wage and hour claims under federal and state law. Kocher formerly was a member of the class action practice group at Saltz Mongeluzzi & Bendesky in Philadelphia. Kocher joins the McOmber firm's Marlton office. In his national class action practice, Kocher represents individuals and businesses in cases involving wage and hour, products liability and product defect, consumer fraud and deception, health care fraud, and electronic data breach, as well as antitrust, unfair competition and complex business disputes. Kocher was a team leader in the Containerboard Products Antitrust Litigation that resulted in partial settlements of $376 million, the announcement noted. Kocher also was counsel in the Dental Supplies Antitrust Litigation that settled for $80 million. Kocher is a cum laude graduate of Georgetown University (2001) and earned his J.D. from the Villanova University School of Law (2004), where he was managing editor of the Villanova Law Review. He clerked for U.S. District Judge Clarence C. Newcomer of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
