The New Jersey Supreme Court, in a 4-2 ruling, has found that former Superior Court Judge Carlia Brady violated the Code of Judicial Conduct when she failed to turn in her fugitive boyfriend to police.

The court imposed a three-month suspension on Brady, stopping short of the removal from the bench that was sought by the Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct. The court noted that it retains authority to discipline former judges for conduct during their judicial service,
