The New Jersey Supreme Court in In the Matter of John F. Russo, Jr. stated, “The vast majority of the more than 400 judges who serve on the Superior Court abide by the highest ethical standards. In carrying out their responsibilities, they must uphold the law.”

With this nod to the ethical excellence displayed by New Jersey’s trial court judges, the Supreme Court appropriately found that there was just cause to remove the respondent John F. Russo, Jr. from the New Jersey Bench in accordance with the requirement of N.J.S.A. 2B:2A-9, which authorizes removal for cause under the highest evidentiary standard of reasonable doubt.
