I read with interest a front-page article in the July 13, 2020, New Jersey Law Journal, entitled “New Jersey Law Firms Received Millions Through PPP Loans.” It described how 70 firms each took anywhere from $1 million to $10 million from Congress’ Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), part of the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act).

I knew that Congress authorized these loans to preserve jobs.
