Capehart Scatchard 'Hosts' Rutgers Camden 1Ls
Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel hosted a remote panel discussion on July 14 for first-year law students from Rutgers Law School in Camden. The students are part of the Rutgers Minority Student Program. Capehart Scatchard attorneys Christopher Chu, Sanmathi (Sanu) Dev, Ashley Mollenthiel, Cameron Morgan, Robert Muccilli, Lora Northen, Jessica Rodio, Michael Rose and Lauren Tedesco, and summer law clerks Meline Derderian, Crosley Gagnon, Matthew Kountz and Nina Rodriguez, served as panelists in a discussion on law careers in private practice. The panelists shared insights about succeeding in law school, increasing diversity and inclusion in the profession, and the importance of being open to exploring various practice areas and opportunities. The event was hosted by Capehart Scatchard's Diversity and Inclusion committee, which Dev leads.
Two From Norris McLaughlin Reappointed to NJSBA Cannabis Law Committee
Andrew D. Linden , a partner at Norris McLaughlin and co-chair of its cannabis law industry group, and Svetlana (Lana) Ros , also a partner, were reappointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association's Cannabis Law Committee for 2020-21. "It is exciting to be able to continue my involvement with a great group of practitioners that will help shape the legal, regulatory, and business framework for this new and rapidly changing industry in New Jersey," said Linden, in a statement by the firm."It's been a pleasure and an honor to be involved in that process," added Ros. The committee studies legal issues in all practice areas that arise from cannabis within the health-care industry, as well as potential consumer access. Among other functions, the committee suggests amicus advocacy positions. In his practice, Linden assists marijuana entrepreneurs, suppliers, growers, retailers, and investors to navigate statutory and regulatory schemes. He assists clients in all tiers of the distribution chain regarding compliance and business law issues. Linden also counsels alcoholic beverage manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers. He previously served on the executive committee for Young Lawyers Division of the NJSBA. He graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2007. He earned a B.S. from Lehigh University in 2004. Ros focuses her practice on health-care law, specifically in the area of civil and administrative litigation, with a concentration in professional licensure and general defense before government agencies providing oversight to the practice of medicine and dentistry. She is a trustee and continuing Legal Education Committee co-chair for the Somerset County Bar Association, and is secretary for the state bar's Health Law Section. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2007 and her B.S. from Rutgers University in 2003.Stark & Stark's Stern Finishes Term as AAJ President
