Former Judge Katherine Dupuis Joins Lindabury ADR Group
Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper in Westfield announced that retired Superior Court Judge Katherine Dupuis joined the firm as a partner in the alternative dispute resolution group, where she'll handle mediation and arbitration, including commercial disputes, probate mediation and divorce mediation. She was presiding judge of the Chancery, Probate and Family parts in the Union County vicinage. Firm president David Pierce said in a statement that Dupuis' "many years of service in Civil, Family and Criminal Courts, culminating with her renown as a judge, gives her outstanding experience to apply to this work." After beginning her career as a federal law clerk in the U.S. District Court of New Jersey, Dupuis served as an assistant county prosecutor in Union County. First appointed to the bench in 1993, she was assigned to all divisions over the course of her career. She has handled stockholder derivative suits, will contests, challenges to transfer of assets, real estate disputes and business valuations. She has also dealt with many disputes arising from divorce litigation. Dupuis received the William McCloud Award in recognition of her outstanding commitment to the Family Part. She served on various in the family and chancery courts. She is a member of the Richard Hughes Inn of Court, and the Union County and New Jersey State bar associations, and an active member of the Family, Alternate Dispute Resolution and LGBT sections of the NJSBA. Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis brought on Judah Skoff, formerly of McCarter & English, as a partner in the litigation department. Skoff is a member of the firm's alternative dispute resolution, banking and financial services litigation, and bankruptcy and financial restructuring practice groups. He is based in the firm's Woodbridge office. Skoff handles complex civil and commercial litigation, including business disputes such as contract claims, creditors' rights, bankruptcy and other insolvency litigation, business divorces, partnership disputes, real estate litigation and construction litigation. Skoff has represented joint ventures, startups, partners, banks, large and mid-market businesses, trustees, insurance companies, developers, lenders and special servicers, and litigated matters concerning fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, business and traditional torts, fraudulent transfers, preferences, negligent design, and professional negligence. Litigation department chair John D. North said in a statement that Skoff's "well-developed practice in business litigation and his expertise in creditors' rights adds to our existing depth in those areas of practice." Skoff said in a statement, "Greenbaum is home to some of the best litigators in New Jersey, and I look forward to deepening that bench," adding, "There's a great synergy between my experience and Greenbaum's existing practice, and I'm very excited to build upon and expand what we offer to clients."
