The Senate and Assembly budget committees approved a $32.7 billion spending plan on Tuesday, setting the stage for the full Senate and Assembly to vote it through later this week to meet the Sept. 30 deadline to come up with a balanced state budget for the fiscal year shortened by the pandemic.

The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee approved the revised 2020-21 fiscal year budget shortly after the Assembly Budget Committee gave it the green light with a 9-4 vote.
