Tyson & Mendes Opens in New Jersey

Tyson & Mendes announced the launch of two offices: Jersey City and Norwalk, Connecticut. They are the firm's 14th and 15th locations nationally. Existing Tyson & Mendes partners manage the two new offices. "After opening Tyson & Mendes' first office in New York exactly one year ago, we knew we wanted to eventually expand throughout the rest of the Tri-State area," said Tyson & Mendes managing partner Robert Tyson in a statement.

Partner Robert Modica leads the Jersey City office. With more than 20 years of experience as a trial attorney, Modica has served as lead counsel for many high-profile proceedings, representing directors and officers of large and small businesses, attorneys, architects, engineers, accountants, brokers, manufacturers and distributors. Modica also represents businesses in various commercial disputes involving intellectual property rights, shareholder derivative claims, and technology-based claims arising out of privacy, data, and cybersecurity breaches.

Partner Mike Coffey leads the Norwalk office. Coffey is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and has tried more than 125 cases on behalf of companies and syndicates in state and federal courts throughout the U.S, according to the firm. He handles high-stakes insurance-related and commercial matters: direct litigation, excess litigation, AFAs, reinsurance litigation, primary and excess monitoring, coverage, and oversight of national programs for companies, insurance companies, syndicates, captive insurance companies. He also handles mediation and arbitration.
