The recreational adult-use cannabis bill has passed the Legislature in time for the Jan. 1 change to the state constitution legalizing possession and use of cannabis for adults 21 and over—when all marijuana arrests, say sponsors, must stop.

The Assembly voted out the massive 200-plus page, “New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory, Enforcement Assistance, and Marketplace Modernization Act” by a vote of 49-24.
