The Collingswood Board of Education has agreed to pay $950,000 to settle a suit over the sexual assault of a student by a man who contacted her over her school-issued laptop computer.

The suit claimed the school board failed to install controls that would limit the student’s access to inappropriate sites, even after her parents expressed concerns to an administrator about her extracurricular use of the internet.
