Former Judge Dupuis Named Union County Bar's 'Professional Lawyer of the Year'

Katherine Dupuis of Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper in Westfield was named the Union County Bar Association's 2020 "Professional Lawyer of the Year." The awards are given by county bar associations under the auspices of the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. Dupuis is a member of Lindabury's alternative dispute resolution group, focusing on commercial disputes, probate mediation and divorce mediation. She was formerly the presiding judge of the chancery, probate and family courts of the Union County Superior Court. First appointed to the bench in 1993, she was assigned to all divisions during her 27 years as a judge. After beginning her career as a clerk in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, Dupuis served as an assistant Union County prosecutor. David R. Pierce, Lindabury president, said in a statement: "With her notable judicial background, Judge Dupuis truly personifies the integrity and professionalism that elevate the legal profession." Pierce added that her judicial experiences "give her outstanding insight to apply to her work in our Alternative Dispute Resolution practice."
