NYC Employment Law Firm Merges with A.Y. Strauss
A.Y. Strauss, a Roseland-based firm focused on commercial transactions and litigation, announced that Joseph H. Harris merged his New York employment law firm White Harris, with A.Y. Strauss. He joins A.Y. Strauss as a partner and as chair of the firm's newly launched labor and employment practice group, representing employers. He is based in New York City. Harris represents employers in state and federal court and before government agencies, defending against claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and the violation of wage-and-hour laws. He also represents employers in disputes involving the breach of post-employment restrictive covenants. Harris "brings sophistication, polish and experience representing management in employment law issues and his work aligns with the dedication and quality of our firm," said Aaron Y. Strauss, managing partner and founder of A.Y. Strauss, in a statement. "Joe's corporate clients will benefit from our firm's strength in practice areas including real estate, bankruptcy, construction, franchise, and litigation. Likewise, our clients will benefit from Joe's employment law expertise." Prior to White Harris, Harris practiced employment law at Moses & Singer. He is a frequent lecturer and has been recognized by the American Society of Legal Advocates. He earned his J.D. from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and his B.A. from Haverford College. He also attended Oxford University, Pembroke College. He is licensed in New York state courts, and in the U.S. District Court for Southern and Eastern districts. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Labor and Employment Law Section; the New York City Bar Association; and LeGaL (LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York).
