McManimon, Scotland & Baumann in Roseland announced that four attorneys joined the firm.
Joseph R. Zapata Jr. is a partner in the bankruptcy practice, representing debtors and creditors in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and Chapter 13 cases; creditors in Chapter 15 bankruptcies; and trustees in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases. He has served as lead counsel to numerous post-confirmation trusts. Zapata has served as lead counsel to the creditors' committees in the Foxtons Inc., and Allstate Excavating Inc. bankruptcy cases; counsel to the debtors in the successful reorganization of DDOH Family Partners and KidsPeace Corporation; and primary counsel to the New Jersey Turnpike Authority in the bankruptcy cases of WorldCom, Adelphia, 360Networks, Global Crossing and Metromedia. He received his B.A. from Canisius College in 1994 and his J.D. from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1998. He is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, and before the U.S. district courts for the District of New Jersey and the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the New Jersey State and Middlesex County bar associations; and Turnaround Management Association. Jennifer N. Harrison is an associate in the redevelopment practice focusing on commercial real estate, reviewing leases, organizational documents of borrowers, drafting and negotiating owner and tenant estoppel letters and various other commercial real estate documents for the financing of multi-family, retail, and mixed-use properties. She earned her J.D. from New York Law School, and her B.A. from The College of New Jersey. She previously practiced at a New York firm representing institutional lenders in commercial real estate financing. She also worked as an attorney for a title insurance company, reviewing title records, and serving as lead on the purchase and refinance of numerous multi-million dollar commercial and residential properties in New York and New Jersey. Harrison serves on the Minorities in the Profession Committee of the New York City Bar Association. She is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York.Alexa S. Iannelli is an associate in the public finance practice. Prior to joining McManimon Scotland, Iannelli clerked for Essex County Assignment Judge Sallyanne Floria. In 2015 Iannelli received her B.A. from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a major in psychology and a minor in leadership. In 2019, Iannelli
received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she was the articles editor of the Seton Hall Circuit Review. Thorpe is a commercial litigation associate. He has participated in numerous trials, depositions and oral arguments in New Jersey and New York. Thorpe is a graduate of Rutgers Law School, where he was an editor for the Rutgers Business Law Review and a Civil Justice Clinic advocate. He previously was an associate at an insurance defense firm in New York and New Jersey. He also worked as a claims analyst for a large international insurance corporation, where he oversaw claims for civil litigation matters involving professional and employment practice liability. Immigration Attorney Kristen Sisko Joins Meyner and Landis
Meyner and Landis in Newark welcomed attorney Kristen Sisko, who handles all areas of
immigration law, with emphasis on employment-based and family-based petitions. She represents U.S. and multinational employers in connection with employment matters related to U.S. immigration laws and regulations. Sisko received her J.D. from the University of Melbourne Law School in Melbourne, Australia. She is a graduate of Baruch College with a B.A. in business communications. Prior to joining Meyner and Landis, she was an associate at Spar & Bernstein.
