I am a partner at the law firm of Lum, Drasco & Positan LLC in Roseland and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Essex County Bar Association. I write in response to the article of Feb, 25, 2021, entitled “1 in 6 New Jersey Benches Have No Judges: A Looming Problem When Courts Reopen.” Below are my own comments, and I am not writing on behalf of the ECBA or any other organization.

Specifically, I would like to respond to Essex County Bar Association President Kevin Walsh’s comments concerning the judicial appointment crisis in Essex County. I applaud Mr. Walsh for his leadership as President of the ECBA during the COVID-19 pandemic and his many great accomplishments, including the remote presentation of many compelling and timely programs during the pandemic.
