McCusker, Anselmi, Rosen, & Carvelli in Florham Park announced the promotion of Kathleen (Katie) A. Hirce from of counsel to partner in the firm's environmental compliance and litigation practice. Hirce focuses her environmental compliance practice on complex environmental matters, and has significant experience within the petrochemical and gasoline industries. She advises clients on environmental investigations and remediations at properties such as former refineries, terminals and gasoline stations, in litigation and in regulatory matters. In addition, she manages claims litigation and related issues over releases from underground storage tanks and other sources. Her practice has also included employment litigation and First Amendment law. Hirce, who joined firm partnership as of Oct. 16, 2020, received her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and her B.A. from Bryn Mawr College. She clerked for Presiding Appellate Division Judge Dorothea Wefing. She is admitted to practice before the U.S. district courts for the District of New Jersey and Eastern District of New York, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She volunteers with the New Jersey Law and Education Empowerment Project (NJ LEEP Inc.), which offers law-related and college-access programming to Newark middle school and high school students and guidance to NJ LEEP alumni who are in college.  John B. McCusker, foundering partner, said in a statement: "We have the great fortune of working with Katie since 2007, when she joined our firm. Since that time, Katie has excelled in the practice of environmental compliance counseling and litigation, providing regional clients with thoughtful and actionable guidance and solutions."
