A man who was seriously injured when his motorcycle collided with an ambulance was paid a $4.5 million settlement in his Monmouth County personal injury suit, Kadubic v. RWJBarnabas Health, on Jan. 28.

According to counsel and court documents, Louis Kadubic, 47, was riding his motorcycle east on Highland Avenue in Franklin Township on Aug. 17, 2017, when he collided with an ambulance that had its lights and siren activated and was taking an injured person to a local hospital. Kadubic had a green light, and the ambulance had a red light. The driver told investigating officers he stopped at the red light, and saw the oncoming motorcycle, but proceeded under the assumption that it would yield to his ambulance.
