It is said necessity is the mother of invention. No truer words have been spoken in the time of COVID-19, and it did not take long after this disease cast its pall over the globe for the legal profession to do what was necessary. It adjusted and reinvented itself by adapting to it.

Given the state of mobile technology, lawyers have long had the ability to work from anywhere. Indeed, have mobile phone, will travel; have laptop, will travel better. And we all have mobile phones and laptops. But COVID necessitated reimagining how to repurpose and most optimally use them to mitigate dropping the many balls we were juggling when offices closed for many (if not most) of us on or about March 16, 2020. This reimagining has resulted in many changes to our practice, including the virtual lawyer.
