With summer recess for the Legislature looming and the pressure to fill judicial vacancies mounting, the Senate Judiciary Committee approved tenure for two sitting Superior Court judges and seven new nominees.

The panel, with nine of 11 members present on Wednesday, gave unanimous endorsements for John Deitch of Fanwood and Candido Rodriguez Jr. of Scotch Plains to serve another seven-year term as Superior Court judges.
