Lowenstein Sandler is facing a $100 million suit accusing the firm of orchestrating the deportation of a venture capital fund’s co-founder after he accused a firm client of misconduct.

The suit claims that Lowenstein Sandler falsely reported to federal immigration officials that plaintiff W. Hugo Van Vuuren had been terminated by Xfund, which he co-founded. Because the fund was petitioner for his visa, it was revoked in June 2016, according to the suit, which was filed in Massachusett’s Suffolk County Superior Court on July 22.
