Philip Sellinger of Greenberg Traurig has emerged as the front-runner to become U.S. attorney for New Jersey, according to multiple people familiar with the search process.

Sellinger was competing with a diverse array of hopefuls in a year when many observers of the selection process have encouraged the White House to pick a diverse nominee, in light of the police killings of George Floyd and others and the accompanying social justice movement.
