NJSBF seeks entries from legal community for 10th annual juried art show
The New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF) is asking members of the state's legal community to submit entries to its annual juried art show, which will be held virtually from Dec. 1 through Dec. 31.
The deadline for submissions is Oct. 18.
The show is open to any lawyer, judge, law student, law professor or other law-related professional.
"Each year, the NJSBF's Art Show Committee is proud to have the opportunity to feature so many talented members of New Jersey's legal community and share their extraordinary artistic works. As lawyers, we are accustomed to 'left brain' activity—logical, analytical, objective, rational functions. The NJSBF's annual art show is an opportunity to celebrate the 'right' side of the brain, and to explore the subjective, random and intuitive nature of ourselves," said Susan Peticolas, chair of the committee.
All visual art mediums are acceptable (i.e., painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, collage, ceramics, metal or glass), except video and sound art. Artwork may focus on any subject matter, although nudity and profanity are not appropriate for the show.
Each artist may submit up to three pieces of art for consideration. The art must be original and created by the person who enters it.
The show will be an interactive virtual exhibit that creates the effect of walking through an art gallery and viewing pieces mounted on walls and pedestals.
