Carlos Bollar Becomes President of Hispanic National Bar
Carlos M. Bollar was sworn in as the 44th president of the Hispanic National Bar Association on Sept. 29 at the HNBA annual convention, held virtually this year. Bollar, a partner at Archer, has held various board positions over the years, and previously served as the association's national finance director and regional president for region III. In 2018 he received the association's "Latino Lawyer of the Year" award. He also is past president of the Hispanic Bar Association of New Jersey and serves on the board of trustees for the New Jersey State Bar Association. The Hispanic National Bar Association is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, national membership organization that represents the interests of Hispanic legal professionals in the U.S. and its territories. The association is committed to advocacy on issues of importance to the 58 million people of Hispanic heritage living in the U.S., according to a statement. In his practice, Bollar represents clients in complex toxic tort, products liability and environmental litigation matters. He is co-chair of the firm's environmental justice group and has more than 20 years of experience handling environmental litigation cases, the firm said. He frequently prsents on such topcis as diversity in the legal profession and issues affecting the Hispanic business community. He has received numerous accolades, including being named the 2017 "Professional Lawyer of the Year" by the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law and as a member of the Law Journal's "New Leaders of the Bar."Karolina Dehnhard Speaks at Economic Forum in Poland
Karolina Dehnhard, who leaders the international transaction group at Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper in Westfield, was a guest of the Polish government and a featured speaker at the recent European Economic Forum in Poland, "Europe in Search of Leadership." The forum was held Sept. 7-9 in Karpacz, southwestern Poland, and attended by more than 3,000 people, including representatives of the Polish government and guests from abroad, according to the announcement. The forum features discussions about security, prospects for economic development, contemporary challenges and overcoming crises. As president of the Polish American Chamber of Commerce North-East, Dehnhard concentrates on connecting start-ups and established businesses with counterparts. During the forum, she spoke about the opportunities for American companies to invest in Poland, and for Polish-based companies to conduct business in the U.S. "The pandemic has actually made the globe a smaller world," said Dehnhard. "People, while sitting in front of their computers, were able to connect with professionals from different sectors across the globe, making the concept of taking business global within closer reach." Dehnhard discussed her prior experience promoting business development in South Korea, Spain, Ireland and Cuba through her affiliation with Leading Women Entrepreneurs, the announcement said. The panel included professionals from the Polish Embassy, the Polish government and private agencies. She commented, "We have made substantial inroads with established entities in Poland that serve as the partnership arm in the application process to secure funding. Given these relationships, this is the prime time to consider manufacturing or selling services or products in Poland by U.S. clients."
