New Jersey’s federal bench could soon have its full complement of judges thanks to the two district court nominees announced by the White House on Wednesday.

Evelyn Padin, a solo practitioner and former New Jersey State Bar Association president, and Georgette Castner, a partner at Montgomery McCracken Walker & Rhoads in Cherry Hill, were nominated to U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey judgeships. If confirmed, they would fill the last two vacancies on the 17-member bench, which has long been plagued by heavy caseloads and judicial vacancies.
