Three distinguished alumni from Rutgers Law School in Newark were honored at the annual recognition gala held by the Rutgers Law-Newark Alumni Association on Oct. 20 at the Maplewood Country Club in Maplewood. The honorees included: Hymie Elhai, a 2002 graduate, president of the New York Jets, who was honored with a "Distinguished Alumnus Award"; Charles Victor McTeer, a 1972 graduate, a retired civil rights attorney who also received a "Distinguished Alumnus Award"; and Victoria Pratt, a 1998 graduate, former chief judge of the Newark Municipal Court and professor of professional practice at the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice, who was recognized with the "Fannie Bear Besser Award for Public Service." Gala sponsors included: The New York Jets, Lowenstein Sandler, The Nicholas Martini Foundation, McCarter & English, Fox Rothschild, Genova Burns, Connell Foley, Duane Morris and Rutgers Law School.
