A Morristown tax and land-use lawyer has been disbarred after pleading guilty to her role in a "pay-to-play" scheme in which her former law firm used straw donors to funnel campaign contributions to elected officials in exchange for government contracts work.
As part of her guilty plea in April, the lawyer, Elizabeth Valandingham, agreed to give up her law license, according to media reports.
