Even for longtime nursing home litigator David Cohen, working on a team that secured a $52.9 million settlement on behalf of dozens of veterans who died of COVID-19 in state-operated nursing homes took an emotional toll.

“This was a really important set of cases—by definition, everyone involved was literally a hero. Every client is hugely important to us, but there was a certain level of solemnity to this that one rarely sees,” said Cohen, of Cohen Kolodny Abuse Analytics in Red Bank.
