One day after Rachel Wainer Apter’s nomination to the Supreme Court expired, Gov. Phil Murphy has announced plans to renominate the civil rights litigator for the seat vacated by Justice Jaynee LaVecchia.

Tuesday’s announcement from the governor’s office doesn’t say how Murphy plans to deal with the opposition of state Sen. Heidi Schepisi, R-Bergen, who used senatorial courtesy to derail Apter’s nomination the first time around.
