New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Jaynee LaVecchia, who spent more than two decades on the court before announcing her planned retirement last year, is going into private practice at New Jersey’s largest homegrown firm.

LaVecchia, appointed to the state’s high court in early 2000 by then-Gov. Christine Todd Whitman, joins Newark-based McCarter & English on Feb. 7 as a business litigation partner.
