We must disagree with the point that any new Justice should be a sitting judge in the Appellate Division.

This Board is aligned with the Law Journal Editorial Board in our approval of the Governor's renewed selection of Rachel Wainer Apter to replace Justice LaVecchia on our Supreme Court, and we also continue to believe and recommend that this well-qualified nominee be given a hearing.
We also agree that it would be beneficial to the Court and to the legal system if the new justices selected to fill the shoes of Justice Faustino Fernandez-Vina and Justice Barry Albin have practical experience in, and knowledge of, the New Jersey judicial system and how it works.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls.
