In what is said to be the first plaintiff’s victory in a Bergen County Superior Court jury trial since virtual proceedings resumed there in 2021, a Teaneck man prevailed on liability and then, after trial, reached a $172,500 damages settlement in November.

In Moloughney v. Rupprecht, the plaintiff, John Moloughney, had slipped and fallen on ice outside of the home of defendant Robert Rupprecht, who’d parked a commercial van on his lawn and driveway after a snowstorm, blocking the sidewalk, according to Laddey Clark & Ryan, which represented Moloughney in the case.
