Nine years after he was convicted in a Newark federal courtroom, Paul Bergrin, the New Jersey attorney found guilty of facilitating the murder of a witness and running drugs out of his law office, has failed in a renewed attempt to defeat his criminal case.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit on Wednesday upheld the decision below to deny Bergrin a new trial, which he sought based on supposedly new evidence, gathered by private investigators, showing that he was framed for conspiracy to commit witness murder, among other crimes.
