The case of a New Jersey judge who faces discipline after showing his disdain for an assignment in family court struck a nerve with some family law practitioners.

The Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct issued a complaint against Camden County Superior Court Judge Michael Kassel on April 19, citing his expressions of unhappiness over the family division assignment, and his professions of ignorance about family law.

When attorney Lynda Hinkle read about the complaint, she wrote on LinkedIn that too many family division judges in New Jersey are unhappy to be assigned there.
