A Somerset County jury in Krassner v. Walmart awarded $1.3 million on May 16 to a shopper who was seriously injured by a falling fire extinguisher at a Walmart store.

Peter Krassner, now 64, of Bordentown, was a customer at the Walmart in Hamilton on Feb. 23, 2018, when he brushed against a fire extinguisher that was mounted to a support column, causing it to fall on his left foot. Krassner sustained a crush injury that led to chronic regional pain syndrome, said his attorney, Brett Greiner of Levinson Axelrod in Edison. Krassner is taking medication to treat his pain after epidural injections and physical therapy failed to provide relief, said Greiner.
