The New Jersey Appellate Division has reversed a trial court decision dismissing retaliation claims brought by members of the Rutgers University-Newark women’s basketball team against their former coach and university officials.

The plaintiffs Sharee Gordon, Adayshia McKinnon, Jade Howard, Arianna Williams, and Sarah Schwartz were Rutgers-Newark students and members of the 2014-15 women’s basketball team. Plaintiff Jasmine Daniels, the team manager that season, was a former player and student. Kevin Morris, also a plaintiff, was the head coach at the time, on medical leave for the season.
