Keller v. Tommy’s Tavern: Mediation in a Monmouth County lawsuit resulted in a $450,000 settlement on April 4 for a 72 year-old woman who fell over a Christmas tree while entering a Sea Bright bar.

According to court documents and counsel, on Nov. 21, 2018, Adele Keller was entering Tommy’s Tavern & Tap to attend an engagement party. A 15-foot Christmas tree had been installed there by Full Circle Lawn Care. The company removed a paver from the sidewalk during installation of the tree and placed a stake in place of the paver to hold a guy-wire supporting the tree. Keller’s foot caught in the hole where the paver was removed, causing her to trip and fall over the guy-wire straight down on her knee.
