A Newark, New Jersey, federal judge rejected a class certification bid on behalf of sales representatives for Goya Foods who claimed they were wrongly classified as independent contractors.

The size of the potential class was deemed too small to meet the numerosity requirement for class certification after some sales representatives accepted $2,000 payments from Goya in return for waiving the right to participate in the litigation, according to court documents.
