A woman who suffered a slip and fall on a supermarket floor accepted $1.5 million to settle her Middlesex County personal injury suit, Atkinson v. ShopRite of Piscataway, on Aug. 4.

Nelrene Atkinson, then 58, was walking through the beverage aisle at ShopRite of Piscataway when she slipped and fell on a wet floor on Dec. 23, 2010. Discovery revealed that a store porter had previously cleaned a spill but failed to properly dry the floor, leaving a wet condition, but left no signs to notify customers of the dangerous condition, said her attorney, Nicholas Leonardis of Stathis & Leonardis in Edison.
