Florio Perrucci Steinhardt Cappelli Tipton & Taylor welcomed Serena DiMaso, previously an assemblywoman for New Jersey's 13th legislative district, as of counsel in the education, municipal, and family law practice groups. She is based in the firm's new office at the Bell Works Building in Holmdel. DiMaso served Monmouth County as a Republican from January 2018 until January 2022. She served as deputy whip for the Assembly Republican Caucus and sat on the Assembly Budget Committee, Assembly Law & Public Safety Committee, Assembly Education Committee, Assembly Human Services Committee, Assembly Telecommunications and Utility Committee, as well as the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commission, and the Special Task Force on Volunteer Retention and Recruitment. Florio Perrucci partner Doug Steinhardt said in a statement: "Knowing Serena for years, she is an excellent fit for our firm and a benefit to our clients. Her government experience at the state and local levels will bring great value to our education, municipal, and governmental affairs law groups." Before serving as an Assemblywoman, DiMaso served three terms on the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, acting as deputy director in 2016, 2015, and 2013. Before that she served on the Holmdel Township Committee for 10 years. She was the mayor of Holmdel Township from 2006 to 2010. DiMaso currently serves as chairwoman of the Bayshore Hospital Foundation and as an active member of the Holmdel First Aid Squad. She received her J.D. from St. John's University School of Law and her B.S. from St. John's University, and is a 2004 graduate of the Christine Todd Whitman Excellence in Public Service series.
