On behalf of the New Jersey State Bar Association, let me clearly state that the state’s largest organization of judges, lawyers and other legal professionals believes the time has come to create a roadmap that allows attorneys to be reinstated to the practice of law after disbarment in some instances. In fact, this past summer our Board of Trustees adopted that position as policy of the organization in response to the Supreme Court’s decision In the Matter of Dionne Larrel Wade

Even more, the Association has advocated for over 30 years that Wilson’s bright-line rule on knowing misappropriation needs to be clarified to specifically target thievery and defrauding clients.
