Seasoned Prosecutor Tapped to Lead NJ's Newly Created Securities Fraud Office

Assistant Attorney General Pablo Quiñones. Courtesy photo Attorney General Matthew Platkin announced the creation of a new office dedicated to prosecution of financial crimes, to be led by an experienced prosecutor, Assistant Attorney General Pablo Quiñones.
Quiñones will lead the Office of Securities Fraud and Financial Crimes Prosecutions (OSFFCP). According to a press release, the office has been tasked with a mission to enhance existing efforts to prosecute financial crimes that undermine the fairness and integrity of financial systems, exploit investors, and prey on vulnerable individuals.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
