Bar and government leaders at the New Jersey State Bar Association annual meeting this week discussed the process of becoming a judicial nominee and detailed what it takes for a candidate to be eliminated from the process.

The “Pathways to the Bench” panel was led by Fruqan Mouzon, a partner with Fox Rothschild and chair of the NJSBA Special Committee on Racial Equity in the Law, and included Maria P. Vallejo, a partner with Chasan Lamparello  Mallon & Cappuzzo and the 2023 president-elect of the Hudson County Bar Association. Mouzan also serves as a vice chair on the NJSBA’s Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee.
