RFQ for Special Counsel to NJ Treasury Department Opens For Applications
The New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety has issued a Request for Qualifications for special counsel to the Department of the Treasury in the Division of Investment Appointment to the Alternative Investments Pool.

The New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety has issued a Request for Qualifications for special counsel to the Department of the Treasury in the Division of Investment Appointment to the Alternative Investments Pool.
On May 23, 2023, the Office of the Attorney General announced the new RFQ for outside counsel to represent the state in litigation, bond, and other legal matters. From the RFQ, a list of qualified firms will be developed from which retention decisions will be made. The designation term will run from the notification that a firm has received the designation until a new list of firms, in the same practice area, has been designated and approved.
A new online application tool has replaced paper applications, which will no longer be accepted. The RFQ encouraged applicants to review a video of a training webinar on the application process and the new online tool. The RFQ Submission Portal will be operational and submissions will be accepted beginning June 9, 2023.
The new application process is part of an initiative for outside counsel which began in fall 2022 and includes a new email list for outside counsel news and updated Outside Counsel Guidelines.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls.
